Minnesota contractors — residential, electrical, plumbing, on one record
Type a contractor name or a license number. 33,930 businesses in the DLI export files of October 2, 2026. No individual licensees.
Hiring a contractor? A dated license report ($19) for your file — or your subcontractor list checked.
What this is
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry publishes one file per trade: residential contractors, electrical, plumbing, mechanical bonds, high pressure piping, elevators. A company that builds, wires and plumbs is in three files. This site joins them: one record per business, with every license and registration it holds and when each expires.
Who uses it
- Homeowners — is this contractor licensed, and for which trades?
- General contractors — check a subcontractor's licenses and bond before the job.
- Suppliers and insurers — the licensed businesses of one trade in one city.
What it is not
Not the DLI, and not a license. Individual licensees — journeyworkers, masters, qualifying builders — are not on this site. Enforcement actions are on the DLI's own lookup. Businesses are grouped by name and ZIP code.
